When I first heard about Zoo, I didn't know what to think of it. But when I saw the first 3 episodes of season 1, I began to truly love it. So much that I considered Zoo to be the next Planet of the Apes (well, the reboot trilogy one).
Why do I think that, you may ask ? Well, let's see the simalirity between Zoo and the Planet of the Apes reboot trilogy.
1 - Both series have an international company that create medical drugs that seems to have strange effects on animals. While Gen-Sys Laboratories' ALZ-113 drug was supposed to cure Alzheimer's Disease in POTART, Reiden Global's products were made from the mysterious Mother Cell in Zoo.
2 - Both series have animals becoming slowly intelligent. While the apes already learn to speak in POTART, the animals become intelligent enough to coordinate attack and making strategies in Zoo.
3 - Both series have humanity regressing to primal behavior. While the humans lose rational thought and speech due to the ALZ 113 in POTART, the humans become more primal thanks to the Ghost Gene in Zoo.
4 - Both series have cities left in ruins. While all the cities in the world are now in complete ruin in POTART, some cities continue to fonction, mostly in the eastern side of the USA, in Zoo.
As we now reach season 3 of Zoo, who knows what kind of twist we might see that might have more similarities to the Planet of the Apes reboot trilogy. What did you think of it ?
